Frequently Asked Questions
This FAQ is for ranchers participating in Boomitra’s Northern Mexico Grassland Restoration Project. It explains how carbon credit payments work, our monthly payment system, required banking information, vesting, and what to do if there are issues with your payment. If you have additional questions, please contact your local project partner.
Now that the Project has issued credits, what happens next?
Once credits are issued, Boomitra continues to sell them to buyers. As sales are completed, payments are distributed to ranchers according to your vesting schedule.
What determines how many credits I earn?
Your credits are based on the size of your ranch, and how much carbon your soil has sequestered during the monitoring period.
How is the credit price decided?
Credit prices depend on market conditions and buyer interest. Boomitra always aims to sell credits at the highest possible price based on their quality and impact.
How many credits have you sold from this project?
Our sales team is actively selling credits from this project. We already have several contracts in place and many more in the pipeline. Now that credits have been issued, we expect additional sales to be completed.

What exchange rate will apply?

What is the vesting schedule?
Payments are made over time according to the vesting schedule you agreed to in your participation agreement. This model ensures long-term commitment to regenerative practices and allows us to align payments with ongoing monitoring requirements. The chart below illustrates a general breakdown of payments over time under the vesting schedule.
Why do you use a vesting schedule?
Vesting helps ensure the environmental integrity of the project and encourages sustained land stewardship. It also reflects the structure of credit sales, which often happen across multiple years.
Will I receive a statement or breakdown of my payment?
You will be able to see the breakdown of payments in the Rancher Dashboard.
